Thoracic Surgery Department
Thoracic Surgery
Thoracic Surgery focuses on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases affecting the organs within the chest, excluding the heart in most adult practices. This specialty addresses conditions involving the lungs, esophagus, thymus gland, pleura, airway, and chest wall. Our thoracic surgery team combines advanced surgical expertise, modern diagnostic tools, and minimally invasive techniques to deliver safe, effective, and patient-focused care.
With a strong emphasis on precision and recovery, we offer state-of-the-art thoracic procedures designed to improve breathing, treat complex chest conditions, and enhance long-term health outcomes.

- Lung abscess
- Pneumothorax (collapsed lung)
- Post-tuberculosis complications
- Pleural infections and inflammatory conditions
Early diagnosis and appropriate surgical intervention help prevent complications and restore normal lung function.
Lung and Esophageal Cancer Surgery
Our thoracic surgeons specialize in oncological resections for tumors of the lungs and esophagus. Procedures are performed using advanced surgical techniques aimed at:
- Complete removal of cancerous tissue
- Preservation of healthy lung function
- Improved long-term survival and recovery
We work closely with oncologists, pulmonologists, and radiologists to provide comprehensive cancer care.
Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (VATS)
We offer Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) and other minimally invasive procedures that allow surgeons to operate through small incisions using specialized cameras and instruments.
Benefits include:
- Reduced surgical trauma
- Less postoperative pain
- Shorter hospital stays
- Faster recovery
- Lower risk of complications
Minimally invasive surgery is widely used for lung biopsies, tumor removal, pleural procedures, and other thoracic conditions.
Airway and Tracheal Surgery
Our specialists manage complex airway conditions such as:
- Tracheal stenosis (narrowing of the airway)
- Airway obstruction
- Tumors involving the trachea or bronchi
Advanced surgical techniques help restore airway function and improve breathing.
Chest Wall Reconstruction
We provide surgical treatment for chest wall deformities, trauma, and structural abnormalities, including:
- Pectus excavatum (sunken chest)
- Chest wall tumors
- Congenital deformities
- Post-traumatic chest wall damage
Reconstruction procedures restore chest wall stability, improve respiratory mechanics, and enhance physical appearance when necessary.
Chest Trauma and Rib Fracture Management
Severe chest injuries can affect breathing and lung function. Our thoracic surgeons provide specialized care for:
- Multiple rib fractures
- Flail chest injuries
- Thoracic trauma from accidents or falls
Surgical stabilization of rib fractures helps reduce pain, improve breathing, and accelerate recovery.
Advanced Multidisciplinary Care
Thoracic surgery requires collaboration between multiple medical specialties. Our team works closely with:
- Pulmonologists
