- Review all abnormal blood smears, reviewing slides and reports.
- In-charge of the blood bank functions as an immonchematologist.
- Supervise the technical staff in performance of tests.
- Development of comprehensive information systems and the maintenance of quality control and quality assurance of services and accreditation activities.
- Ensure that the blood or body fluid samples received by the patients are safe, with the help of technicians.
- Supervise received requests for consultations on anatomic pathology and clinical laboratory issues from Hospital.
- Responsible for providing anatomic pathology diagnostic services: surgical pathology, cytology, fine needle aspiration and bone marrow diagnosis. Appropriate analysis of surgical specimens and prompt reporting of results.
- Responsible for providing clinical pathology diagnostic services by supervising tests in the area of : chemistry, microbiology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, hepatitis, and transfusion service.
- Responsible for maintaining high standards of professional services so that the Department of Laboratory Services will meet NABH Accreditation.
- Making Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for tests.
- Ensuring turnaround time of laboratory tests.
- Conducting interviews, training sessions/ seminars and yearly performance appraisal for staff.
- Interpersonal relationship management to tackle unpleasant situations.
- Managing materials & resources.
- Liaisoning with consultants for any abnormal reports or critical reports.
